Join host Robert Mumby and co-host Leslie Greenly Smith this Friday, February 14 on “The Harford Edge”. 3rd Annual HCPL Women's Summit - Ticket Purchase Required is slated for Tuesday, March 3 at the Abingdon Branch of the Harford County Public Library. We are thrilled this year to have Sandra Magsamen- a Maryland native who is a featured columnist on Oprah.com, a world-renowned artist, author and designer as our keynote speaker! Magsamen's mission is to help people express themselves and connect with one another both personally and professionally. Tune is as we talk about the Women's Summit (HCPL's way to kick off Women's History Month!) and chat with Sandra about how she got started, what keeps her going, and what she has planned for the future. This is a show AND an event you don't want to miss!

Find “The Harford Edge” on the radio at WAMD 970am, and on the Web at www.khztv.com/wamd. The “Harford Edge” airs LIVE every Friday morning at 9:00 a.m., and features local news, plus in-depth interviews with leaders, innovators and artists from Harford County and beyond. It is rebroadcast every Saturday at 9:00 a.m., and is brought to you by the Harford County Public Library.

HCPL Human Resources Director Charles Ross was all smiles last week as a Smile Makers volunteer at Bakerfield Elementary School. He was on hand to welcome students and hand out stickers as they began their day.

Happening throughout the school year, the Smile Makers program provides students with positive interactions with male role models while also helping to create a sense of belonging, increase academic achievement, and reduce disruptive behavior. With a super smile like his, Charles was a perfect fit and had a blast!

For many Harford County residents, February 10 is one of those days that will always stick with you.

Today, as we remember Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon, our thoughts continue to go out to their families and friends.

On behalf of the library, we are so grateful to them, along with all of our other local law enforcement officers, for everything they do to help to keep our community safe.

#hcplmd #ilovelibraries

Four years ago, our community mourned when two heroes were murdered in the line of duty. The memory of Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon lives on every day as our deputies continue to honor them by protecting and serving the great people of Harford County.
