๐ฅ FIREWORKS & BURN BAN CLARIFICATION ๐ฅ
The City of Belen remains under a burn ban, and residents are still urged to use extreme caution due to dry conditions and increased fire danger.
Because Belen has a local fireworks ordinance, permissible fireworks are allowed within city limits, with restrictions.

Permissible fireworks include items such as ground and hand-held sparkling and smoke devices, cone fountains, crackling devices, cylindrical fountains, flitter sparklers, illuminating torches, toy smoke devices, wheels, and fireworks with a โcautionโ label.
๐ซ Prohibited fireworks include aerial devices, stick-type rockets, ground audible devices, bottle rockets, moon rockets, whistling moon travelers, fireworks with a โwarningโ label, and fireworks that shoot flaming balls or are flammable with report.
Fireworks can only be discharged:
๐ Until 10:00 p.m. from June 20 through July 2
๐ Until 12:00 midnight on July 3 and July 4
Please use fireworks safely:
๐ง Keep water nearby
๐ Use fireworks away from buildings and dry vegetation
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Supervise children at all times
๐ Dispose of used fireworks properly
๐ซ Never relight a โdudโ
โ๏ธ Call 911 if you see smoke, fire, or an emergency situation
Violations of the Cityโs fireworks ordinance may result in fines and/or seizure of fireworks.
