On 02/10 at 0337 hours, Stations 3 and 7 were dispatched to the Dunes of Shoal Harbor for a reported fire alarm activation with water flooding inside the structure. Engine 375 and Truck 790 responded.

Chief officers arrived on scene and reported water flowing from the front door of the condo. Engine 375 arrived on location and assumed command under Lt. Schinder. The crew from Engine 375 began investigating to locate and shut down the main water supply for a ruptured domestic water pipe.

Truck 790 arrived shortly thereafter under the command of Capt. Dowens and assisted with locating and shutting down the main. After moving several mounds of snow and ice, the water main was located. Lt. Schinder and Lt. Eastmond were able to secure the main and stop the water flow.

The water company and property manager were notified and advised to respond. All units cleared the scene without incident.

We have departed from Campbell’s Junction. We are taking a 15-minute break and will then head back out. As previously noted, we do not have a set route or specific streets. We try to cover the main thoroughfares in the area but cannot cover all streets in one night. We do have one set stop each year to allow families to come and see Santa.
