As we close out this 2026 EMS week - so proud of the work these competent servants provide to the Gallatin Valley:

Meet Central Valley Fire District 5-1A & 5-3A

I want people to understand something , when I capture crews like this, I’m not documenting “content.”

I’m documenting people I care about.

These aren’t just first responders standing in formation. These are the ones who hug our kids. The ones who check in. The ones who carry our communities on their backs and never ask for recognition. The ones who joke in the bay one minute and walk into someone’s worst nightmare the next.

I’ve seen the shift after a hard call.
I’ve felt the silence that falls when the adrenaline wears off.
I’ve watched them show up anyway.

That’s why I do this.

Because the world sees the lights, the trucks, the strength.

I see the humanity.

I see the tired eyes that still choose courage.
I see the loyalty that doesn’t need to be spoken.
I see friendships built in fire and forged in trust.

When they stand shoulder to shoulder like this, it’s more than a photo. It’s years of earned respect. It’s “I’ve got you” without hesitation. It’s knowing the person next to you would run into anything to make sure you come home.

This is why I share this today.
To make sure they’re seen , fully.
Not just as firefighters and EMS responders,
But as humans. As friends. As family.

Forever grateful for you all

Residential Structure Fire Displaces Family in Belgrade

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Date: April 11, 2026

The Central Valley Fire District responded to a residential structure fire at 17 Birch Lane in Belgrade during the early morning hours of April 11, 2026.

Gallatin County 911 received a 911 call at approximately 4:43 a.m reporting a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a working structure fire and initiated an aggressive fire attack. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent further extension. Mutual aid assistance was provided by the American Medical Response, Bozeman Fire Department and the Hyalite Fire District.

The fire displaced four residents, including two adults and two children. There were no reported injuries to occupants or responding personnel. Tragically, three pets died as a result of the fire. The displaced residents are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

The fire was investigated by Central Valley Fire District’s Fire Investigation Unit and has been determined to be accidental in nature, originating from a space heater within a bedroom.

This incident serves as a critical reminder that working smoke alarms significantly increase the chance of survival in a fire. The Central Valley Fire District encourages all residents to check their smoke alarms monthly, replace batteries as needed, and ensure alarms are installed in every sleeping area and on every level of the home.

For more information or to request assistance with smoke alarm installation, please contact the Central Valley Fire District.

Wednesday will bring about critical weather conditions across our area. Open Burning within the Central Valley Fire District remains closed due to current conditions.

The combination of above normal temperatures, low relative humidity values, and gusty south to west winds will lead to critical fire weather conditions on Wednesday across portions of Central and Southwest Montana, most notably across the valleys. Any new or existing fires will be difficult to contain under these conditions. Be aware of any activities that could produce a spark and lead to a wildfire.
