As part of an ongoing narcotics investigation originating in Belington, Patrolman T. L. Cooper of the Belington Police Department coordinated with PFC D. T. Sayre of the Elkins Police Department to execute a search warrant in Elkins on October 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m.

One of the individuals at the residence is alleged to have been supplying narcotics to individuals in the Belington area.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, officers seized over one-quarter pound of suspected fentanyl, approximately $4,000 in cash, and other items of evidentiary value. One individual was taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation remains active, and the Belington Police Department extends its appreciation to the Elkins Police Department for their assistance and cooperation.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

***ATTENTION***

It's time to FISH!!! The annual fishing derby will be held April 26th, 2025. Time will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can find us on Rt 92 at the Stewart's pond (right before the school). There will be lot's of door prizes. We will have a vendor set up selling food. We are offering a fish cleaning station. So mark your calendar and come enjoy some fishing with your local officers.

There will also be a road stop in the middle off town the same day. The road stop will be collecting donations for the police department special events.

Section 8:

Removal of snow, sleet, and ice from sidewalks

It shall be the duty of all owners occupants and persons in charge of real estate in the City to remove snow, ice, and sleet from sidewalks on which their property borders.
The snow, ice, and sleet shall be removed within five (5) hours after snow or sleet stops falling, except should the five (5) hour limit require the removal after sundown, in which event the snow, ice, and sleet shall be removed immediately after 9:00 a.m. the following day.
In removing snow, sleet, and ice from sidewalks as herein required, it shall be unlawful for any person to place or pile such snow, sleet, or ice into or upon any street, alley, gutter or public property.
