Bell Police Department would like to take a moment to acknowledge the promotion of the most senior patrol officer within the department.

Jaime Baltazar began his journey with Bell Police Departmant by joining the Police Explorer program in 1994. He quickly realized a profession in law enforcement and helping his community was going to be his calling. In 1997 he was hired as a jailer and just two years later, Jaime graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Police Academy and was hired by Bell as a Police Officer.

Over the last 22 years, he has been able to be a contributing member and asset to our department. Jaime has worked as a Field Training Officer since 2003, was assigned as a Police Detective from 2005 to 2011 and from 2015-2021,, served a a Police Explorer Advisor from 2005 to 2008 where he helped other young men and women, like him, who were beginning their journey in law enforcement, just like he did years ago. In 2008, Jaime was assigned to Homeland Security Gang Task Force Group 1, and is currently a member of the Southeast Gang Task Force.

In addition, he has served as the Bell Neighborhood Watch Liaison since 2015, and takes great pride in bringing a voice from the community into our department.

Today, we take a moment to recognize, a true ‘Bell Kid’, being promoted to Police Sergeant. Congratulations Sergeant Baltazar. We look forward to your continued selfless service to make our department a better place and to also continue finding new ways to serve the City of Bell and all of our residents.
