The Municipal building will be closing tomorrow 12/24/25 at Noon. Garbage will be picked up at the regular time tomorrow 12/24/25. We will be closed on Christmas Day. On Friday 12/26/25 garbage will resume to the normal business hours. From all of us to all of you have a very Blessed Merry Christmas!

The Water Office will be closed Friday, February 17, 2023, for training on the new meter system. Payments can still be made in the drop box using a check or money order, no cash please, or online at www.ohiobillpay.com/bellaire. You will need to use your account number located on your bill. Please make sure that the account number is correct, including all of the zeroes, or your payment may not be applied correctly.

Per Fort Steuben Maintenance, water will be shut off tomorrow, Tuesday, February 14th, in the south end of Bellaire. Fort Steuben Maintenance will be replacing a water meter at Belmont Metropolitan Housing. Water will be shut off from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Affected areas will be 23rd Street to the southern corporation limits.

We will provide any additional verified updates as they become available.

Is your home in need of repair?

The Belmont County Commissioners, in partnership with the City of Martins Ferry, are holding public meetings to explain this program.
Find out if you are eligible for funds through Belmont County’s Community Housing Impact and Preservation program for home repair emergencies and private owner rehab.

This program has specific requirements, including income and ownership, that must be met to be eligible. This program is open to any Belmont County resident that meets the criteria.

You may attend one of the scheduled public meetings.

The water meter replacement project will begin in the next several days. The replacement project will begin in the North Bellaire area, with 500 water meters scheduled to be replaced.

It is extremely important to work with the crew to schedule your meter replacement to facilitate this procedure.
Please be reminded that the workers must have a safe, clear path to the meters. The working conditions should also be in decent, safe, and sanitary condition.
