SCI-FI FANS — THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!

Attention, Donut! Look what just arrived at the library!

Something seriously fun has landed at the Bellaire Public Library! A HUGE thank you to patron and fellow Sci-Fi reader Ben Benner of Red F Tech for donating the ENTIRE Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman to our collection!

And because apparently just donating the books wasn’t enough, Ben delivered the entire series in a LOOT BOX — complete with buttons!

We couldn’t possibly tuck a Loot Box like this onto a shelf and call it a day, so we’ve put the entire series, Loot Box, and buttons out on an endcap for all of our DCC fans to discover.

If you love laugh-out-loud comedy, high-stakes sci-fi action, and a talking tortoiseshell cat with a massive attitude problem, this may be the binge-read you've been waiting for. Dungeon Crawler Carl is part of the LitRPG (Literary Role-Playing Game) genre, blending traditional storytelling with video-game elements like levels, quests, skills, stats, and challenges.

Never tried LitRPG? This could be your sign to step into a whole new genre.

A note for our families: While it has gaming elements, Dungeon Crawler Carl is written for an adult audience and is not intended for our young readers due to its mature themes and intense action.

The Dungeon Crawler Carl Loot Box is on display now — come check it out before someone else beats you to the level exit!

Explore the history and impact of the Carnegie library initiative in Michigan and see examples of facilities that continue to serve their communities today.
