Team Titan and Friends,
On August 26, we celebrate the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which granted women the right to vote. The passage of the 19th Amendment is a testament to the courage and tenacity of the women and men who challenged the nation to live up to its founding principles. Titans and friends,
Did you know that Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers brought the news of freedom to enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas — two months after the Confederacy had surrendered? This was also about 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in the Southern states.
Today Juneteenth was signed into law as a national holiday and etched in history the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was created in 1983.
What a great day for our country.
Happy Juneteenth!

Captain McMurray commissioned into the U.S. Army on 3 November 2010. She attended the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Upon graduating, she was assigned to the 345th Combat Support Hospital (CSH) in Jacksonville, Florida as the Healthcare Administrative Assistant, Platoon Leader, and Equal Opportunity Leader.

Captain McMurray progressed by serving successfully as the 345th CSH Company Executive Officer. Subsequently Captain McMurray was assigned as the 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Yellow Ribbon program Officer in Charge (OIC). As the Yellow Ribbon OIC and Contracting Officer Representative (COR), she was responsible for tracking deployment cycles for eight Brigades. This responsibility entailed coordinating logistics for more than 8,000 Soldiers, managing an annual budget in excess of $2,000,000, and personally assisting multiple General Officers. In 2013, she attended the Health Services Plans, Operations, Intelligence, Security and Training Course (70H) to prepare her for deployment as the Medical Intelligence and Security Officer with G-2, 3rd Medical Command Operational Command Post (FWD) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Kuwait.

During deployment, she also joined The ROCKS, Inc., to provide mentorship and professional development to peers and subordinates, superiors, and civilian employees. Upon returning from deployment, she joined the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program and was assigned as the Medical Operations OIC and SHARP/VA to the 372nd Engineer Brigade Fort Snelling, Minnesota.

She was the principal advisor to the 372nd Engineer Brigade Commander for individual medical training and medical readiness for over 4600 Reserve Component Soldiers. To assist her with personnel readiness, she attended the Health Services Human Resources Course and was the Distinguished Honor graduate. As Company Commander, she significantly improved the HHC’s Medical readiness from 79% to 91%, built internal and external professional relationship extending influence outside of the chain of command, and she was recognized as a subject matter expert for line of duty investigations and medical readiness for all Brigades under the 416th Theater Engineer Command.
