You’ll lead medical units, provide patient care, conduct medical research on diseases, and develop disease prevention and health programs to help improve patient outcomes and advance treatment practices the medical field.
The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, was able to safely vaccinate approximately 1,086 first-tier personnel by 5 p.m. on the first day of receiving the vaccine. COL Roy Danks is a general and trauma surgeon from Kirksville,
MO. He has a private practice in Kirksville and currently practices as
a Level 1 trauma surgeon at Research Medical Center, Kansas City,
Missouri. He is the medical director of trauma at Northeast Regional
Medical Center in Kirksville.
Dr. Danks joined the Army Reserve in 2007, as a Captain, and has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, most recently returning from a tour with a Golden Hour Offset Surgical Trauma Team (GHOST-T) under the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), 7th Group, Afghanistan.
COL Danks is currently both a trauma surgeon and flight surgeon with the Army Reserves, and is the Command Surgeon for Army Reserve Aviation Command (ARAC), Ft. Knox. Dr. Danks completed a residency in General Surgery, in Kirksville, MO and a fellowship in Burns, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
