Friends of the Bellaire Library

Friends of the Bellaire Library Est. in 1951 by the Bellaire Women's Civic Club. A not-for-profit organization, devoted to the establishment, support, and enhancement of the city library.

The Friends rely on volunteers for help with two or more outside book sales each year. We also sponsor an ongoing used-book sale at the Friends Corner inside the Library. The Friends support Bellaire Library projects that encourage reading and life long learning, and work to increase the use of the Bellaire Library through public awareness. Numerous programs and purchases for the Bellaire Library

have been made possible by the contributions of the Friends, including:

Earlier this week, Mayor Pappas presented an official proclamation declaring this week as National Library Week in Bellaire, Texas. This annual celebration highlights the vital role libraries play in strengthening our community, providing access to knowledge, fostering lifelong learning, and offering a welcoming space for residents of all ages.

We extend our appreciation to the staff of the Bellaire City Library for their dedication, creativity, and service. Thank you for continuing to inspire curiosity and connection throughout our city. Last weekend, we hosted our annual Friends of the Bellaire Library Book Sale, and thanks to your incredible support, it was a huge success! So many of you stopped by to give books a second chance, and together we raised over $4,000 to support programs, resources, and services offered by the Bellaire Library.

We’re truly grateful for our amazing community and everyone who came out to support us. We hope to see you at our next sale soon!

And don’t forget, we always have a Friends of the Bellaire Library indoor book sale located inside the library. Stop by and check it out anytime!🥰☺️

The Friends of the Bellaire Library are now accepting donations for our upcoming sale. We are currently looking for puzzles, gently used games, and recently published books to add to our collection.

Holds pickup will be available Monday–Friday, March 16–20 from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
📚 Book Returns
Items may be returned any time using the curbside book drop.
