Boys Soccer Team Featured in Xenia Gazette:
Head coach John-Mark Mocas said teamwork and communication were the difference-makers in Bellbrook’s 3-1 win over Chaminade Julienne Wednesday. The contest opened with CJ on the attack and keeping possession at Bellbrook’s end of the pitch for the first few minutes of play.

To many in the Bellbrook area, he’s probably just Brent. Perhaps to his close friends, they call him “Doc” in jest. But Dr. Brent Rau’s professional life has been broadcast for all to see, thanks to a major hit TV show on HBO Max, “The Pitt.” Dr. Rau is the inspiration for the main character, Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, played by Noah Wyle. This week’s Fantastic Friday shout-out at Bellbrook Middle School goes to Miss Fisher’s 8th Grade Food & Fitness class for serving up the absolute BEST pancakes of the school year so far!
The pancakes were fantastic, but what was even better was watching the students work together! They communicated, shared responsibilities, helped one another, and showed some awesome teamwork in the kitchen.
Great food + great teamwork = a recipe for success!
Way to go, Miss Fisher and the 8th Grade Food & Fitness students! Keep cooking up great things at BMS!

Congratulations to Jack Kosins, who has been nominated for WHIO’s Athlete of the Week. Kosins carried the ball four times for 108 yards and two scores against Bellefontaine as the Golden Eagles stormed back from a 10-0 deficit to win 49-17 and move to 2-0 this season.
“Jack has only scratched the surface of what he is capable of,” coach Jeff Jenkins said. “He works insanely hard on both side of the ball and still has the potential to get better and better.”

Because Friday was the day the Teddy Bears had their picnic … First-grade classes at Stephen Bell Elementary had a Teddy Bear Picnic on Friday to end the last full week of August, bringing their favorite stuffed animal to school to sit outside and have a snack toward the end of the day.

Thursday night was a celebration of sorts for the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District and its Treasurer, Amit Gautam, as they received the Auditor of State Award. The volleyball team picked up a big nonleague win on Wednesday, handling Beavercreek in three straight, 25-14, 25-14, 25-11. Kenley Von Handorf had 13 kills and four aces, and Addie Salem tallied eight kills and three aces. The win moves the Golden Eagles to 2-0 with two big games on Saturday at the Raider Invitational. Bellbrook will face Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 9 a.m. and Centerville at 3 p.m. at the Nutter Center. Those games – as well as a matchup between CHCA and Centerville -- bookend a Wright State match against Eastern Illinois. The JV team will also play.
