The Plaquemines Parish Libraries Summer Reading Program continues today with a special visit from New Orleans author Alex McConduit at 1:00 PM at the Belle Chasse Library!

Alex McConduit is the author of many beloved Louisiana children’s books including The Little Who Dat Who Didn’t, Snoballs for All, Peter and the Pelican, Thorn in My Horn, and Bloom (the Possible Story of the First Flower). His fun, engaging presentations encourage young readers to use their imaginations, embrace creativity, and discover the possibilities of becoming authors themselves.

This program is free and open to all children and families. Come enjoy an afternoon of stories, laughter, and Louisiana-inspired fun as we celebrate our Summer Reading theme, “Plant a Seed, Read!” 🌻📖

🌱📚 New Orleans author Alex McConduit brought stories to life at the Buras Library today as part of our Summer Reading Program!
The children enjoyed an engaging storytime filled with imagination, laughter, and inspiration as Alex shared 2 of his wonderful books and encouraged young readers to discover the joy of writing and storytelling.

From reading aloud to discussing how stories are created, Alex captivated the audience and helped plant a few seeds of creativity in the minds of our young readers. Thank you, Alex, for spending part of your day with us!

Join us today at 1:00 PM as we welcome Louisiana author Alex McConduit to our Summer Reading Program!

📚✨ Summer Reading Fun at Percy Griffin Community Center in Davant! ✨📚

Today, children at Percy Griffin Community Center traveled back in time to Ancient Egypt with Louisiana author Melinda T. Falgoust! 🏺🐫📖

From learning about pharaohs and hieroglyphics to drawing Egyptian-inspired artwork and participating in a laugh-out-loud mummy wrapping challenge, the children were fully immersed in history, storytelling, and hands-on learning. 🎭✏️🧻👑

A big thank you to Melinda for sharing her knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm with our Eastbank Summer Reading participants! ❤️
We look forward to your book release at the end of this month!

What a fantastic day at the Port Sulphur Library, with Louisiana Author, Melinda T Falgoust! Our young readers enjoyed stories, activities, laughter, and lots of Summer Reading fun as we continue our “Plant a Seed, Read!” adventure! 🌻🍓🍌

Seeing these smiling faces reminds us why we love what we do. Every story read, every activity completed, and every visit to the library helps plant the seeds for a lifelong love of reading. 💚📖✨
