It's time for another FROG HIKE! 🐸

Join us on June 10th from 8PM to 10PM for an evening of frogs at Woodlands Preserve with Dr. Timothy Clay! Dr. Clay is a Professor of Biology & run the Nicholls Herpetology Lab at Nicholls State University. At this event, visitors with learn about the reptile and amphibian communities that call Woodlands Preserve home.

Please bring your own flashlight or headlamp!

This event is free and open to all ages, but donations are appreciated!

📚 INFORMATIONAL NOTICE 📚

The Plaquemines Parish Libraries are pleased to share information about the Second Lady's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge for families who may be interested in participating.

This is a separate national reading initiative and is not sponsored, administered, or affiliated with the Plaquemines Parish Libraries. However, we are excited to see another opportunity that encourages children and families to discover the joy of reading and promotes literacy throughout the summer.

Children in grades K-8 are invited to participate in the Second Lady's 2026 Summer Reading Challenge by reading and tracking 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4, 2026. Every book counts! 📖✨

🎉 Participants who complete the challenge and submit their reading log through the White House website may receive:📜 A personalized certificate🔖 A commemorative America 250-themed bookmark🎁 A special prize

Participants may also be entered for a chance to visit our nation's capital and the White House with a parent or guardian.

🌱 Even better, families participating in our Plant a Seed and Read! Summer Reading Program may use the same books they are reading this summer to participate in this challenge as well.

Due to freezing weather, all three Plaquemines Parish Library branches will have a delayed opening tomorrow, Monday, January 26.

AT&T is has been out and have found more issues.
We do have our fax line and we do have Internet.
