Over the weekend we had members take part in the Vale Fire Department golf tournament fundraiser. Not only were these guys supporting a neighboring department but letting off some steam after fighting fires in the grueling heat over the summer!

Did you know today is National Volunteer Firefighter Day? Just like everyday we thank those that drop what they’re doing when the tone goes off to respond to whatever emergency comes their way. They spend what spare time they have training, maintaining equipment, supporting their community and many other things. They don’t do this for the recognition, a paycheck, or status, they do it to help others and keep the area communities safe. So if you see a volunteer firefighter today (or any day) tell them thank you!
