🚧 Filming activity for a locally produced feature film will be taking place at the Hoffner Bridge & Lake conway starting Thursday Aug. 27, 2026 @ 6:00pm into Friday Aug. 28, 2026, until around 6:00am. 🚧

🚓 BIPD Officers will be providing intermittent traffic control @ the Hoffner Bridge between 6:00pm to 1:00am. 🚓

🥵EXTREME HEAT ADVISORY🥵

Afternoon temperatures in the mid 90s, combined with high humidity, will produce peak heat indices of 108 to 112 degrees across the advisory area. The greatest heat impacts are expected along and north of the I-4 corridor. A Heat Advisory has been issued for all of east central Florida from 10 AM-8 PM today. Additional heat Advisories will be likely through at least Friday.

Heat-related impacts are possible for anyone without adequate cooling or hydration. If spending extended periods outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade or in air conditioning and stay well hydrated.

👀BE ON THE LOOK OUT👀

Early Thursday morning around 1:56am, an unknown suspect attempted a vehicle burglary in the 2500 block of Nela Ave. Security camera picked up a short video of the subject walking around the vehicle and attempting to open the doors. If you have any information on this, please contact the Belle Isle Police dept. Everyone PLEASE remember to lock your doors!!

Because of your incredible generosity, we were able to provide 65 children with backpacks and essential back-to-school supplies, helping them start the new school year prepared and confident.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your kindness and support have had a meaningful impact on the children and families in our community.
