Child Id Cards, Fire Safety House, seat belt convincer, police K9 and crisis dogs, Lifeguard helicopter, fire trucks, police vehicles, and ambulances and more to check out!

We also have some food trucks coming, so please join us tomorrow morning from 10 to 1 PM at Franklin Park. Hope to see you all there! 

Please be advised the date for our safety fair has changed.

Please join us on Saturday, August 29, 2026 as we team up with the Belle Plaine Fire Department and Belle Plaine Area Ambulance Service for a children’s safety fair. This will be held at Franklin Park from 10-1PM. There will be a lot of cool exhibits and fun things for the kids! See you then!

Last Wednesday night (8-19-2026), the Belle Plaine City Council passed an ordinance dealing with e-bikes and scooters. The graphic shared below mentions most of the high-points of the ordinance.

Parents, please share with your children!! (Helments are not required by the ordinance but are highly encouraged!)

Today (8-24-2026) is the first day of school! Wishing all of our Belle Plaine Community Schools students a great first day back to school and a great year overall.

Motorists, please watch for kids crossing the streets on your morning commutes this morning and this afternoon after school is dismissed!

All Charges are subject to review by The Benton County Attorney’s Office. An arrest or criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Intrastate Warrants are issued by Law Enforcement Agencies for crimes happening in their jurisdictions.

Here is a helpful guide for electric scooters and electric bikes. Class 3 E-Bikes age requirement is 16. If the bike is strictly throttle assist and does not have pedals, its a motorized bike and requires a valid drivers license and must be registered street legal. Please read and note where they are allowed.

PARENTS: If your children have electric scooters, please educate them on where they can ride (ie: not on the street and not on sidewalks in the business district). Thank you!
