On March 6, 2026, at approximately 1843 hours, a pursuit was reported in Phelps County near the Maries County line on Hwy 63 S.,involving a black motorcycle. Phelps County terminated the pursuit at 1849 hours. The last report indicated the motorcycle turned onto Hwy 28 heading towards Belle. I notified Maries County Dispatch that I would stage at Mace's and Hwy 28 in Belle. Upon observing the motorcycle with riders, I initiated a traffic stop due to the lack of plate information. I activated my light and siren at Alvarado and Hwy 28. The motorcycle accelerated at a high rate of speed, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued on Hwy 28, reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour. The motorcycle slowed to approximately 80 miles per hour as the driver realized they could not outrun me and took a side street in Bland. The suspects chose a dead-end road and were unable to continue fleeing on the motorcycle. Both individuals fled on foot after wrecking into the wood line, and I chose not to follow them due to safety concerns and waited for backup. I located both helmets approximately thirty yards from where they entered the wood line. I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lt. Mantels with Gasconade County for operating the drone, Sgt. Holtz with Gasconade County, Sgt. Lyne with Gasconade County, Maries County Deputy Davis, the Department of Conservation, and the Osage County K-9 handler and his K-9. They tracked the suspects' trail back to Hwy 28 and located the discarded backpack. The suspects were not located, and charges include felony fleeing. The motorcycle came back stolen out Kentucky. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact your local law enforcement agency and Belle Police Department.
