Logan County WIC is finishing out nurses week celebrating our two favorite nurses!
Kathleen graduated nursing school in 1986 with her RN, she then went back and earned her BSN in 2019. She has been serving the moms of WIC since 2008. Kathleen can be seen in clinic Monday-Thursday greeting our moms, helping support our families and has a heart for service. She is an amazing asset to our program and we are so thankful she is part of our WIC family! She has a passion for our participants and making sure they have the resources they need. She is a proud mother and brings that into clinic with her comforting ways and making sure no mom leaves without knowing she is proud of them!
Our other nurse is Tracy. Tracy became a nurse in 1984 and joined WIC in 2001. In addition to having RN behind her name Tracy wears the hat of proud director here at the Logan County WIC office. Tracy can be seen at clinic Monday-Thursday. There is no one we would rather have leading the office then her. She brings to the clinic a warmth that is unmatched and is always our participants biggest cheerleader. Tracy has a heart of service much like Kathleen and has an empathy unmatched. She is a proud mother and brings that into the clinic with her understanding, patience and unwavering support and beaming with pride as she gets to watch the families grow. The children show her new skills they have accomplished and families thrive.
Both of our nurses encompass what Florence Nightingale said when she said “Nursing is an art—and if it is to be made an art it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation as any painter’s or sculptor’s work" Our nurses show up to clinic ready to change lives even in the smallest of ways. They come with judgement free compassion, are always learning and evolving and doing the best they can to make our clinic a welcoming space where mothers, children and families feel they have walked into a safe space.
We appreciate all nurses far and wide, but we are super SUPER thankful and proud these are our nurses who we get to work with on a daily basis.
Thank you Tracy and Kathleen for all you do for our clinic, our families, and our community.
