🎓 Benjamin Logan High School’s Best of the Class! 🎓

Each year, the Ohio Lottery recognizes Ohio’s top graduating seniors through its Best of the Class program. This year, the program introduced a new format, featuring students on the Ohio Lottery’s Best of the Class website in addition to its traditional recognition efforts.

We are proud to celebrate our three Benjamin Logan High School Valedictorians—Winifred (Winnie) Bodin, Rylan Norviel, and Greyson Wagoner—who are featured as part of this year’s program. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement and for representing Benjamin Logan with excellence! 🖤💛🎓

Another successful school year has come to a close for the after-school Benjamin Logan Environmental Science Club! 🌿🖤💛

As we say “so long” until next year, we are reflecting on a year full of diverse, interesting, challenging, and fun experiences that helped students use all of their senses to explore the natural world around them.

Students learned what healthy, earthy soil should smell like, cooked a healthful meal using clean foods, helped pick up trash on campus, explored the sweet process of maple syrup making, and watched bulbs grow into beautiful tulips. They used sight and touch to observe microscopic tardigrades—also known as “water bears”—and feel the shale deposits at Kirkmont’s cliffs.

The club also enjoyed wagon rides along the Mad River, discovered critters in the cold stream, and explored the unique geological wonder of Cedar Bog, along with its many interesting plants and animals.

Leah Kaldy, a former Ohio EPA employee, joined the group at the Mad River, where students searched for aquatic critters that help indicate the health of the stream.

To celebrate the end of the year, the group gathered for hot dogs, macaroni salad, cold drinks, and certificates of completion. Another year has come to an end, but we look forward to welcoming students back next year!
