Back in June, we raised this issue. Two and a half months later, the question remains:
When will Congressman Glenn Thompson hold an open, in-person town hall where constituents can ask him questions directly?
Thompson continues to rely on virtual town halls, where questions are submitted and selected in advance. That format limits the opportunity for constituents to challenge their representative directly, ask follow-up questions, and have an open public exchange.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Ray Bilger for Congress, has been traveling across Pennsylvania’s sprawling 15th Congressional District and holding in-person town halls. At those events, attendees have been able to ask questions, express disagreements, and speak directly with the candidate.
That difference matters.
Representative government works best when elected officials - and those seeking office - are willing to stand in the same room as the people they represent, hear criticism, answer difficult questions, and remain accountable to voters.
And the clock keeps ticking...

Since the last open in-person forum we’ve been tracking, Thompson has gone through the 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024 election cycles.
Voters deserve accessibility.
Voters deserve accountability.
Voters deserve the opportunity to ask their representatives questions face-to-face.
The next general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with mail-in voting available beforehand for eligible voters.
