*****Myrtle Street/ 550 traffic******

STPD has received numerous complaints recently about traffic making a left-hand turn from Myrtle Street onto W. Water Street. There are no left turns allowed from Myrtle Street onto West water Street. There have been many close calls over the years and recently. Please use caution in the area and do not make a left turn. This week marks National Police Week, a time to remember and honor the brave individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We invite our community to join us in reflecting on the service and dedication of law enforcement officers, and to pay tribute to those who gave their lives protecting others.

Today, in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day, members of the Spring Township Police Department stood alongside fellow law enforcement agencies from across Centre County at the Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony held at the Centre County Courthouse.

Together, we remember, honor, and never forget those who served.

Gary Royer was not only a valued member of our community he was a family member at Spring Township - Centre County. Aside from his dedication to the fire department, Gary spent many years leading our public works department at Spring Township. STPD sends prayers to the entire Royer Family. Centre County and the Pleasant Gap Fire Company lost one of the best.

The Pleasant Gap Fire Company is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Active Life Member Gary Royer. Gary joined the fire company in 1977 and over his 48 years of service, held Chief for 20 years along with other Assistant positions. In the past few years, he held positions of Fire Marshall, Trustee, and Ambulance Committee Member. Gary put countless hours in with the Company and will greatly be missed.
At this time, arrangements are being made and we will inform as they come available. Please keep the Royer family and the Pleasant Gap Fire Company in your thoughts and prayers.
