Lift up one of our brothers and his family in prayer...Condolences from the Hooligans. Rest easy Frank.

It is with deep regret that I inform you of the passing of Firefighter Paramedic Frank Canizares. Frank passed away at West Marion Community Hospital this morning surrounded by family, several members of our department, and senior staff. Engine #10, Rescue #10, and Rescue #510 escorted Frank from WMCH to Heirs Baxley funeral home this afternoon.

Frank was born on August 30, 1973, in Hialeah, Florida. After graduation from high school, he joined the United States Air Force on March 15, 1993, and was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. He received an honorable discharge on April 7, 1995.

Frank joined the ranks of Marion County Fire Rescue on December 5, 2005. He was a crucial member of our department and mentored young firefighters through their paramedic precept program. Most recently, he served at our Villages of Marion Station #10, “The Caddyshack”, and our Liberty Station #32.

Our department is following protocols to support Frank’s family. Please keep Frank’s family, the crews of Stations #10 and #32, and our entire department in your thoughts and prayers today.
