On September 2, 2026, around 1055pm, Minneapolis Police reported to our Deputy on patrol that there was a vehicle headed North on 120th road speeding and driving carelessly. The Deputy on duty happened to be on 120th road.

He stopped his vehicle and waited on the vehicle headed North on 120th. The Deputy did not observe any speeding but the vehicle did not have lights on the back of the trailer.

The Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle then increased his speed and fled from the Deputy.

The vehicle started driving on the county gravel roads leaving behind a cloud of dust. The deputy tracked the vehicle to Rifle and 160th where he lost the dust cloud from the fleeing vehicle.

A caller at 1624 Rifle road called 911 and reported a vehicle hitting a power pole in his yard. All responding officer went to this residence. The driver’s door on the vehicle was open when the Deputy first got on scene. The vehicle was cleared and officers with the Kansas Highway Patrol Cloud County Sheriff’s Office and Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office cleared the residence and multiple out buildings on and around the property.

We believe after working on this investigation there was only one individual in the fleeing vehicle. After searching the area for several hours for the individual who fled on foot, the search was ended around 230am. K9, foot patrol, UTVs and a drone from Cloud County was used in an attempt to locate and apprehend the suspect. The suspect was never located while officers were on scene. At 350am, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by the property owner the suspect was seen on a game camera on his property around 215am.

The Deputy on duty returned to the property and assisted the property owner in removing personal property from the residence. I’m asking the public to be on the lookout and if they happen to see anyone walking from or around the location to call us, do not approach and do not offer him a ride.

We believe we are looking for a Male subject, a Floyd Morrison, Mr. Morrison is a white male, blue eyes, 5 foot 10 inches and weighs 175 pounds. He has grey hair and possibly facial hair. Mr. Morrison should be considered dangerous and he may be trying to get to Nebraska.

The City of Belleville, Kansas is seeking to fill the position of Certified Police Officer. The Belleville Police Department serves a community of 2000 people and works a 12-hour shift schedule with alternating weekends off. We have modern vehicles and equipment.

Pay depending on qualifications and experience. Starting pay for an uncertified Police Officer 1 pre academy is $19.57 per hours. Already certified applicants may start at Police Officer 2 with a starting base pay of $21.63 per hour. Starting pay will be based on training and experience.
Minimum qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire
Valid driver’s license with a good driving history
High school diploma or equivalent
Prefer law enforcement certified but willing to train the right applicant
Physically and mentally able to perform officer duties
Must not have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions; or any Brady-Giglio issues
Possess good communication and writing skills
Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a positive manner

UPDATE: KBI agents and the Republic County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man connected to a home invasion and assault in Scandia, Kansas.

KBI agents arrested Jardyn J. Bartman, 32, of Scandia, in the 200 block of Washington St., in Scandia. He was arrested for aggravated burglary, r**e, and aggravated so**my. He also had an active warrant out of Riley County.

Following the arrest, Bartman was booked into the Republic County Jail.

No other suspect is being sought related to this incident. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

ORIGINAL: The KBI and the Republic County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a home invasion and assault that occurred early Tuesday morning in Scandia, Kansas.

The Republic County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded.

At approximately 2:51 a.m. Tuesday, a female resident in the 400 block of Grant Street in Scandia called 911 to report that an unknown male subject had broken into her home and assaulted her.

Law enforcement is actively working to identify the suspect. The Republic County Sheriff’s Office advises area residents to remain vigilant, keep home and vehicle doors locked, and immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

Residents in the immediate vicinity are requested to review any home security or doorbell camera footage for unknown subjects or suspicious activity recorded between 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

UPDATE: Tomlinson has been located. We would like to thank the community for all cooperation.

The Concordia Police Department is currently investigating a missing person case involving 52-year-old Floyd Tomlinson.

Tomlinson was last seen by family members on August 2, 2026. Last night, officers responded to the area and were able to ping Tomlinson’s phone; however, the phone was shut off.

Tomlinson was last known to have been in the 500 block of East 8th Street and the 300 block of West 3rd Street in Concordia.

Tomlinson does not have a registered vehicle and typically travels by bicycle. His bicycle was located at his residence, which is unusual and has raised additional concern.
