The Van Buren Township Board of Trustees is deeply saddened by the passing of Trustee William Frazier.

William's life was one of service to the community he called home. He recently retired after an extraordinary 38 years of dedicated service to Van Buren Public Schools, where generations of students, staff and families came to know his kindness, dependability, positive attitude and willingness to help wherever he was needed.

His service continued beyond our schools. In 2024, William was elected to the Van Buren Township Board of Trustees, continuing a proud family tradition of public service following his mother, longtime Trustee Sherry Frazier.

William's 38 years with our schools represented far more than a career. They reflected a lifetime of commitment, reliability and care for others. That same quiet dedication to service was evident in his work as a Township Trustee and in the respect he earned throughout our community.

On behalf of the Van Buren Township Board of Trustees, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Sherry Frazier, the entire Frazier family, his friends, colleagues, former students and everyone whose life William touched.

Thank you for your service, William.

Your contributions mattered, and your legacy will not be forgotten.

• Remove landscaping or other items within the right-of-way

The project is being completed with CDBG grant funding and will improve accessibility and safety in the neighborhood.

Residents will also receive an update letter in the mail with information about the upcoming work. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
