Hameau Farm in the Big Valley We are a working dairy farm in central Pennsylvania that doubles as a summer camp for girls ages 8-14.

Home to the Plum Bottom Ayrshire herd of cows, a flock of Jacob sheep, free-range chickens, pigs, goats and, during the summer, about 80 spirited girls. Second session is going swimmingly

This session has been inspired by the musical Six! With chore groups like Anne Boleyn and Catherine Parr we have been doing a whole lot of learning. Other than our royalty-related festivities, we had our first ever Hameau kitchen sleepover! Sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, and many orphaned socks covered the kitchen floor for two full days. Fortunately, the smog did little to slow us down. Here’s to clear skies ahead and an amazing remainder of the session. 👑

It was goodnight and not goodbye….

Our 30th first session has come to an end; and what a memorable session it was. We can confidently say that FUN was a commonality for all. Staff, CITs, campers… animals? Our jobs are made easy when we have such a strong group of campers and such a magical mission. Thank you session one and goodnight. 🌙

Time sure does fly when you’re having fun…. Just like the last 30 years of camp magic, 2026 staff training has begun and ended right before our eyes!

This year’s staff had the opportunity to visit the Kishacoquillas Historical Society, the original Plum Bottom Farm, and many of the other historical sites of The Big Valley. After the past two weeks together, we are all SO ready to make our own Hameau history right here. We have our 30th year anthem, animal friends far and wide, and most importantly… YOU!
