Make a plan before the celebration starts. ๐Ÿปโžก๏ธ๐Ÿš• That sober ride home will cost you a lot less than a DUI. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

โš โ€ผ๏ธThe Belleville Police Department is supporting Wisconsin's Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign runs from August 19th through September 7th, 2026! ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ‘ฎ

There were nearly 7,000 impaired driving crashes in Wisconsin in 2025, killing 167 people. The goal of stepping up law enforcement is not just to arrest impaired drivers. The mission is to enhance public safety and urge drivers to understand the importance of driving sober to prevent needless tragedies and save lives.

๐ŸšจFIRST RESPONDER TRAINING MONDAY๐Ÿšจ
On Monday, August 24th, the Belleville Police Department and local/regional first responders will be conducting an Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) training exercise in partnership with the Belleville School District. The training will take place at the Elementary School, beginning at 5:00 PM and lasting approximately four (4) hours until 9:00 PM.

This exercise is designed to improve coordination between law enforcement, fire, and EMS during critical incidents. You may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles at the Elementary School during this time; please avoid the area to allow the teams to conduct the training effectively.

As part of this exercise, we will be testing our panic button system at least twice. These systems, funded by the April 2025 operational referendum, are designed to alert the school community and emergency responders to immediate danger. Please be aware that these tests will trigger audible alarms inside and outside the building.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support!

The Belleville Police Department reminds motorists of Sundayโ€™s Sugar River Triathlon which will be utilizing Community Park (Bross Circle), River Street, and W. Main Street, and other area roadways. Bicyclists will take Highway 69/92 out of the Village, taking a left on Quarry Road, continuing their route onto County Highway W and beyond, returning to the Village on Highway 69/92 aka W. Main Street.

The event starts at 7:30 AM and is anticipated to be done around 12 PM. Please watch for runners, bikers, and when in Community Park, swimmers.

Athletes start with a 1/4-mile swim in the calm waters of Lake Belle View, followed by a 16-mile bike course featuring rolling hills, and finish with a 5K run along gravel trails and quiet neighborhood streets.

๐Ÿš“๐ŸŽ‰ The Belleville Police Department had a great time joining last night's Belleville Farmer's Market. We set up our booth, handing out swag to kiddos and offering our new challenge coins for purchase. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi and support us by purchasing items. Lieutenant Jax made an appearance and enjoyed meeting some fans! ๐ŸŒฝ๐ŸŽˆ

๐ŸŽ‰ Itโ€™s a unique time in Belleville history. It is the 250th Anniversary of America and the 175th Anniversary of the Village. ๐Ÿ™Œ

To celebrate the officers were wondering about having commemorative badges made. With that said I reached out to our badge vendor SymbolArts. ๐ŸŽจ

Though we have not received the 250th USA Anniversary badges, we did finally receive the 175th Village Anniversary badges. Just in time for this weekendโ€™s Belleville Community Club Picnic. ๐ŸŒฝ

Thanks to the Belleville Area Historical Society, the 175th Village Anniversary badges were created to look similar to the badge the first Belleville Police Chief, Norman Buss, wore. The badge also incorporates the Village Boardโ€™s approved 175th Village Anniversary logo. ๐Ÿ˜

Since these commemorative badges were not budgeted for, the following community partners made a generous donation to cover the cost. We thank these community partners for their support in helping us celebrate these milestones with pride. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ–ค
