🚒 Preserving Our History 🚒

The Belleville Fire Department is proud to announce the beginning of a special project to preserve and share our rich history.

Over the years, countless firefighters, families, and community members have helped build the legacy of our department. As part of this effort, we are beginning the process of digitizing decades of photographs that capture the people, equipment, events, and memories that have shaped the Belleville Fire Department through the generations.

We are fortunate to have retired Chief Ron Babler leading this project. Ron’s dedication to the department and his passion for preserving our history make him the perfect person to help ensure these valuable memories are protected for future generations.

As the project progresses, we look forward to sharing many of these photos and stories with our community. They serve as a reminder of the proud tradition of service, dedication, and volunteerism that continues today.

If you have historic Belleville Fire Department photographs, documents, or memorabilia that you would be willing to share for digitization, we would love to hear from you.

Did you know our fire district has over 3,000 acres of public land open for recreation? A mix of State, County and local lands along with a segment of the National Ice Age Trail offer opportunities for hiking, hunting, fishing and beyond.

Last night we trained with our partners at Belleville EMS on that public land to prepare for an injured and lost person(s) utilizing our UTV, E-bicycles, drone and fire fighters on foot. Know you can enjoy our public lands safely as we are prepared for any emergency that might happen “off the beaten path!”

When duty calls, we’re ready from every angle—including from above! 📐🧗‍♀️

​Captain Myrland, Captain Payne, and FF Charles recently spent some time expanding their technical rescue skills at a ropes rescue training hosted by the Verona Fire Department.

​Technical rescues require precision, teamwork, and constant practice. We're grateful to Verona FD for hosting, and proud of our crew for always pushing to level up their skills!

Today we proudly continued one of the fire service’s oldest traditions — pushing a brand new fire engine into the bay for the very first time.

Long before fire trucks had engines of their own, firefighters had to physically push their apparatus back into the station after returning from calls. While technology has changed, the tradition remains a symbol of teamwork, pride, and the beginning of a new chapter for the department.

We are excited to officially welcome our new Engine 2 to the Belleville Fire Department family. This truck represents more than just new equipment — it represents over 3 years of planning, meetings, design work, and dedication by our truck committee to ensure we built an engine that will serve our community and firefighters for many years to come.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work that went into this project and grateful to everyone who helped make it possible. We look forward to placing Engine 2 into service soon and continuing to protect the fire district.

Incident Notification

Currently CTH HWY A is closed from STH 92 to Cates Rd for a tree that took down a power line that is still active.

Alliant Energy has been requested to the scene.

The roadway will remained closed until the power has been shut down and the roadway has been cleared.
Roadway reopened by 11:45pm
