The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking public comments on a proposed Compliance Agreement Schedule (CAS) with the city regarding its wastewater treatment facility and reuse permit.

The CAS establishes corrective actions, including improvements to facility operations, maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and permit renewal.

Public comments are accepted from August 19, 2026 though September 18, 2026. We encourage all comments be made on the DEQ website to keep them consolidated.

Beginning Monday, August 10th, portions of the Howard Preserve, including the parking area near the Public Works shop, will be closed to allow for the reconstruction of the Diversion Dam. This work will improve long-term stability and reliability, construct a fish passage notch, and reduce erosion in the streambed below the dam.

Please follow marked closures and stay away from the construction zone. Parking is available on Main Street and the Preserve can be accessed from Elm Street entrance and Riverside Dr. For more information, please contact Jordan Parker with J-U-B Engineers at 208-220-5883.
