Save the Date!

Our annual Light the Way Luncheon is set for Thursday, September 24.

This year's theme, A Place at the Table, reflects something we see every day: People thrive when they know they belong.

For men experiencing homelessness, that can start with something as simple as a meal, a conversation, or someone who believes they deserve another chance.

Join us as we gather with friends, supporters, volunteers, and community partners to celebrate what's possible when people come together.

More information will be available soon.

A heat advisory is in effect through Wednesday, and PorchLight is here to make sure no one faces this weather alone. High temperatures can be dangerous, especially for neighbors without stable housing or reliable access to cooling.

If you need a safe place to cool down, cooling centers across the region are open.

We welcome visits from new community connections.

Kenzie and Skylar from Gay For Good recently stopped by PorchLight to learn more about our mission and explore ways their organization can support the men we serve.

As Gay For Good expands its volunteer efforts to the Eastside, we're excited about the possibility of having them back as volunteers.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at PorchLight.

We believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. This month, we celebrate and support our LGBTQIA+ staff, clients, volunteers, partners, and community members.

Creating a place where people feel safe, welcomed, and valued is part of our mission every day. We are grateful for the diversity of experiences and perspectives that strengthen our community.

If it's the first Thursday of the month, it must be Hyatt time!

A big thank you to Hyatt Regency Bellevue for once again providing an outstanding meal for the men at PorchLight and bringing volunteers to serve and spend time with our guests.

The meal is always appreciated, but the conversations and connections made across the dinner table are just as meaningful.

We are grateful for Hyatt and all of the community partners whose generosity helps make our work possible. Thank you for standing with PorchLight and the men we serve.

Our first harvest is in!

Just over a month after volunteers from Target helped plant our vegetable garden, we harvested fresh lettuce that will be served with tonight's dinner.

This garden has been a true community effort, with clients, staff, and volunteers all helping to prepare, plant, and care for the space. With zucchini, tomatoes, and carrots not far behind, we're excited to watch our community garden continue to thrive.

Thank you to everyone helping this garden grow.

Thank you to First Congregational Church, Bellevue for their longstanding support of the men at PorchLight.

As a longtime host of our Rotating Shelter program, First Congregational Church has opened its doors, shared its space, and helped provide safety and stability for men working toward a brighter future. Their commitment has made a lasting difference in countless lives.

We are deeply grateful for their partnership and the care they continue to show our community.

Thank you to the 9th Grade Service Committee at Eastside Preparatory School for organizing an incredible coffee drive for the men at PorchLight.

Students from all four ninth-grade classes came together and collected nearly 100 pounds of coffee. Coffee is one of the largest ongoing expenses in our kitchen and something our residents enjoy every day, so this donation will have a meaningful impact.

We are grateful for the students' hard work, generosity, and commitment to supporting their community. Thank you, Eastside Prep, for partnering with us in such a thoughtful way.

This month marks three years since Troy Christensen became Executive Director of PorchLight.

In a new reflection on our website, Troy looks back on the growth, challenges, and lessons of the past three years while sharing his hopes for the future of PorchLight and the men we serve.

We invite you to read his reflections and share your own thoughts. What do you hope PorchLight continues building toward in the years ahead?

Partnerships grow best when people are willing to get their hands dirty together.

We’re grateful to the incredible Target team who spent the day at PorchLight helping plant our garden. What they helped build is more than a garden bed. It’s a space that will provide fresh food, connection, and care for the men we serve.
