Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department assisted with the Ohio Gulch Fire, where our crew was initially assigned to initial attack before transitioning to the Indian Creek area to provide structure protection.

The incident brought together local, state, and federal agencies, and we appreciate the opportunity to work alongside everyone involved. Thank you to all of the firefighters, dispatchers, support personnel, and community members who helped throughout the incident.

We’re grateful for the support of our community and appreciate everyone who played a part in keeping our area safe.

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS

Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) will conduct a Triennial emergency preparedness exercise at 5pm on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026.

During the exercise, airport personnel, including firefighters, police officers, and medical personnel, are put through a series of simulated situations that could include anything from a plane crash to a major fire. These exercises are designed to test the emergency response teams’ ability to work together as a team, their communication skills, and their ability to follow procedures under pressure.
Volunteers are needed to play the role of accident victims.

Volunteers will need to be at the airport at 3pm and available until 8pm. A meal will be provided.

EVACUATION ALERT: Residents in the Ohio Gulch zone, dump, and Wynn’s compost are on GO NOW evacuation status due to the new fire off of Ohio Gulch Rd. This includes the Heatherlands and the Valley Club.

This means LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. You are in fire danger. The road is shut down at Starweather.

All homes in the Indian Creek Subdivision are now in SET status. This means you should make immediate preparations to evacuate at a moment's notice. Maintain situational awareness, and if you feel you are in danger, do not wait for an evacuation order. This is a fast-moving fire. Take the initiative and self-evacuate.

Public Reminders:
Please stay out of the area to allow fire crews access. Crews are responding.

Do NOT fly drones to get a look if you fly, aerial fire support cannot. Please do not call dispatch for fire updates. Stay tuned here or on our website for updates.
