Simple yet interesting... watching a barge lock through Lock 12. Seriously, this is something the young and the young at heart find interesting and fun. Even better on a beautiful cool morning.

We hope you get out and enjoy the beauty of Bellevue and this glorious Memorial Day Weekend. If you are in town, try to make the time to walk the flag lined Riverview Park. Soak in the streams of red, white and blue that line the river.

It's also worth mentioning, the flags along the river are their due to efforts of local volunteers. Bellevue Area Centennial Lions Club and it's volunteer members erect 100s of flags throughout Bellevue. This is made possible through donations $$ from individuals.

Take a walk, you never know what you might find. These painted rocked were found close to the look-out at the Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc. A big THANKS to Bellevue Iowa Rocks for inspiring people to paint and hide rocks. (The rocks were put back where they were found as to provide joy for others.😊)

There is so much Beauty in Beautiful Bellevue. Bellevue is naturally Beautiful, although, it takes work to keep things in check. Lots of work! Much of what is beautiful in Bellevue is cared for by volunteers.

On a day that was a bit sticky and humid, Lori Lensch, along with several other volunteers were cleaning out over growth at the Butterfly Garden.

The volunteers were local school children as well as other volunteers that do work with Friends of Bellevue State Park, Inc.

We jokingly asked Lori if she was having fun. Joy filled her expression as she answered with an exuberant, "YES!" There is no doubt the she really was having a good time.

The Butterfly Garden not only brings a lot of joy to the many people that visit the Bellevue State Park, IA each year, it also brings joy to those volunteers help take care of it. ❤️

We want to send a sincere shoutout to all the volunteers that help keep Bellevue Beautiful!

If you are ever asked, "What is the most beautiful thing about Bellevue?" That is best answered with, "It's people!"

Some changes are harder than others. This is one of those.

The announcement of Fr. Andy’s move and parish changes has us feeling all sorts of ways… mostly sad. In this episode, Corey and I sit down with Father for an honest conversation about what it looks like to let go of something you love, hold onto faith, and trust God even when it’s difficult.

But as Pope John Paul II said, “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song!”
