Friday Cascade Hiking Club: Denny Creek 🌧️🥾
Don’t worry — the creek crossing was totally optional!

On a drier day, we would’ve continued up to Keekwulee Falls, but decided to call it at the infamous natural water slide instead.

We felt pretty lucky to have the trail almost entirely to ourselves. And even luckier that all 10 participants still showed up despite the rain!

Gorgeous weather at our most recent outing for Friday Cascade Hiking Club, Garfield Ledges! We even had some extra time to hang by the Snoqualmie Middlefork River before heading back to Bellevue.

Have you explored the bus trail in Tiger Mountain State Forest?

Today we took a little detour from our usual Tradition Lake loop route. We were a little surprised to find an actual bus!

Featured Route: Tuesday Trails 50+ Hiking 🥾

Our first Tuesday Trails of the season began at Skycountry Trailhead. We like this hike for for many reasons, including free parking. Thanks to ’ management of Cougar Mountain- no Discover Pass required.

From the parking lot, we trekked up Clay Pit Road, took a left onto Coyote Creek Trail, and continued until it connected to Klondike Swamp Trail. We then made our way back down Clay Pit Road.

On our return, we stumbled upon a mysterious body of water…

We couldn’t help but ask - is that a pond? A lake?
Behold, Klondike Swamp, we deduced.

And what happened to the trees?
They drowned, we concluded.

Our 2.5-mile loop featured an elevation gain of 80-100 feet, depending on the fitness tracker. Grab a friend and check it out!
