While the city welcomes and encourages dialogue with the public, this site is a limited public forum, and all comments are subject to public disclosure laws. Our site is a family-friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts appropriate. Th

The intended purpose of the site is to serve as a mechanism for communication between city departments and members of the public. All comments are reviewed after posting. Comments will not be edited by the city or its staff. The city reserves the right to restrict or remove any content that is deemed in violation of this policy or any applicable law. Articles and comments containing any of the following forms of content are deemed inappropriate:

🚧 Road Closure Update: Lake Hills Boulevard 🚧 The closure of Lake Hills Blvd between 151st Ave SE and 154th Ave SE has been extended until Oct. 1.

During construction on the Kelsey Creek Culvert Replacement Project, crews encountered unexpected construction challenges that require additional time to safely complete the work.

Detours will remain in place for:
• Road traffic
• Lake to Lake Trail
• Sidewalk
• Crosswalk

We know this extension may be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we complete this important project to replace aging infrastructure and reduce long-term flood risk.

Fall service changes launch on Aug. 29!

New Route 215 will provide an all-week connection between North Bend, Snoqualmie, Issaquah and Mercer Island Station.

New routes 220 and 270 will replace Route 271 to improve speed and reliability between Eastgate, downtown Bellevue and the University District.

Revised routes 111, 218 and 269 will run more frequently and connect riders to the 2 Line at South Bellevue or Mercer Island stations.

Routes 111 (between Renton and South Bellevue Station) and 269 (between Sammamish and Mercer Island Station) will expand to all-day, all-week service, with earlier morning trips, later evening service and more frequent buses.

Temporary bus stops for Routes 249 and 550 during Bellevue Transit Center construction:

Route 249 to South Kirkland will move to temporary stop 3 on the east side of 110th Avenue NE, south of NE 6th Street.
Route 249 South Bellevue will use bus bay 1.
Route 550 to Seattle will use temporary stop 2 on the west side of 110th Avenue NE, just south of NE 6th Street.

What travelers should expect for weekend of Aug. 7
* Heavy congestion on northbound I-405 approaching Renton.
* Heavy congestion on local city streets in Kirkland.
* Increased traffic on northbound I-5 due to the northbound I-405 closure and reduced lanes over the Ship Canal Bridge.
* Heavy back-ups on the eastbound I-90 bridge Saturday night due to the eastbound SR 520 closure and multiple events downtown.
* Increased traffic on I-90 due to the SR 202 closure.
 
Northbound I-405 closure from Renton to Bellevue
Northbound I-405 will close from North Southport Drive/Northeast Sunset Boulevard to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. A signed detour will be in place.
 
I-405/Northeast 85th Street interchange closures in Kirkland
The northbound and southbound I-405 on- and off-ramps (Exit 18) and Northeast 85th Street from Sixth Street to 120th Avenue Northeast will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project. Signed detours will be in place.
 
Eastbound SR 520 overnight closure, Aug. 8-9
Eastbound SR 520 will close overnight between I-5 and Montlake Boulevard from 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, to 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, as part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project. All traffic from I-5 heading to eastbound SR 520 must use alternate routes. Eastbound SR 520 is open across Lake Washington. Only the section of eastbound SR 520 between I-5 and Montlake Boulevard will close.
 
SR 202 Fall City/Snoqualmie River erosion repair
SR 202 just east of the SR 202/SR 203 roundabout will close from 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10. Signed detours will help guide people around the closure via I-90. Detours may add 45 minutes or more to travel times so people are encouraged to plan for longer trips. Crews will use the closure to rebuild the road embankment along the Snoqualmie River at milepost 22, just east of the SR 202/SR 203 roundabout in Fall City.
 
Recreational river users may also be affected by this work.

The City of Bellevue is partnering with Lime to launch shared electric bikes and scooters in Bellevue beginning Monday, Aug. 10.
 
To celebrate the launch, the city and Lime will host a community event on Friday, Aug. 21, 3:30–5:30 p.m. at the Amazon Meadow (600 108th Avenue NE), featuring mobility resources from community partners and free helmet distribution from Lime.
 
Lime will initially deploy 500 shared devices citywide—350 scooters, 50 e-bikes and 100 seated gliders. Riders can unlock devices through the Lime app (iOS or Android) or text 415-463-3473 to use without a smartphone. Reduced fares are available through Lime Access for eligible ORCA LIFT, RRFP, Medicaid and other assistance program users.
 
Later this fall, riders will also be able to receive ride discounts if your trip ends near a light rail station or transit center.
