Bittersweet news, Hawks!

The military life loves a plot twist, and due to sudden relocation orders, our family will be moving this summer. Because of this, I will no longer be able to serve as your PTA President for the upcoming school year.

Leaving this community is incredibly hard. I am so deeply grateful for the wonderful memories, the friendships, and the strong community we’ve had the privilege of forming during our time here. Serving this school has been a true joy, and I am so proud of everything we've done together to support our amazing students and staff!

While I’m sad to step away, I am thrilled to share that the PTA is in the absolute best hands! Mrs. Megan Palmer has stepped up to the plate to fill the position of President, and the wonderful Mrs. Laura Cartmell has put her name forward to fill our vacancy as Vice President. Due to the unusual nature of a post election vacancy, we thought we'd make a final call for anyone interested in the position the opportunity to step forward. If we aren't contacted by any other nominees, the board will vote Laura in effective 6/15.

The board is already full of fresh ideas, energy, and excitement, and I know this next school year is going to be phenomenal -- I'll be cheering everyone on from afar!

And just like that, the final bell has rung! We could not have asked for a better way to kick off our last day than with our annual tradition: a high-energy visit from Omaha Street Percussion! 🥁✨ They had our students up on their feet, dancing, and drumming their way into summer break 💃🏼🕺🏼

An incredible school year doesn't just happen by accident. It takes a village, and we have the absolute best one -- our wonderful Students, amazing Teachers and Staff and incredible Families 💜

We hope your summer is filled with relaxation, fun adventures, plenty of sunshine, and maybe a little less morning rushing!

Keep watching this space 👀 - we are already planning and looking forward to seeing everyone back and refreshed for the next chapter. Until then, stay safe, have fun, and have a fantastic summer break! 🕶️🍦🏖️

Leveling up to middle school! 🚀🎮

Our 6th graders brought the energy today for a special end-of-year celebration! They put their field trip funds to excellent use and dove into an awesome VR Experience 🕶️🔥 before the BV tradition of treating themselves to cool Kona Ice in the park 🍧

Our 2nd graders have had an absolute blast with special in-school field trips from the Omaha Children’s Museum!

From messy Grossology to giant Bubbology, it was the perfect way to wrap up the year! 🦠🧼✨

What a week! We’ve had the best time celebrating our incredible Staff -- Hawk Wheels style. 🏎️💨

We wanted to make sure our Staff felt the love at every turn, so we kicked things off with Pit Passes and a little chocolate key to get the engines started. To keep that momentum going, we made sure everyone stayed caffeinated with coffee gift cards—definitely the high-octane fuel we all need!

The rest of the week was a total blast:
🌮 A much-needed Pit Stop for a taco lunch.
🍩 "Spare Tires" (aka donuts and more coffee) to keep us rolling through the finish line.
🏆 A final stop at the Podium in the winner's circle with some gift card prizes!

To our staff members heading off on their next big adventure—we are cheering you on from the sidelines. We'll miss having you on our crew!

Thank you to every single member of our Staff for "leading the way" and making what you do look easy. We appreciate you more than words can say! 🏁💜
