Every day matters at our Community Resource Center.

Monday through Thursday, our doors open at 9 a.m. so our neighbors can see a smiling face, receive a meal or hygiene kit, get help with an ID voucher, find needed resources, or use a computer to search for housing and work.

Most of all, we hope everyone who walks through our doors finds a place of peace and leaves with a greater sense of purpose and value than when they arrived.

It’s steady, often unglamorous work, but it adds up to lasting stability for individuals and families during uncertain seasons. If you’d like to help us keep these doors open, share this post, say a prayer for our neighbors, or make a gift at kcbellflower.org/give.

Strong partnerships make for stronger Neighborhoods. None of the work we do happens alone, and we're grateful this month for the churches, agencies, organizations, and neighbors who help families navigate hard days together.

Whether that means connecting someone to housing resources or helping a parent track down school supplies, collaboration is what makes lasting change possible. Tag a partner you appreciate in the comments, or reach out to our team to learn how you can join in: kcbellflower.org/contact

It's back-to-school season in Bellflower, and our team is already thinking about the families getting kids ready for a new year. Throughout the school year, we walk alongside neighbors through our Community Resource Center, offering everyday support like ID vouchers, hygiene kits, and a place to charge a phone or find a listening ear between case management appointments.

Follow along this month as we share more about the programs helping local families feel ready for what's ahead. Learn more at kcbellflower.org.

The work does not end with one announcement, and neither do the stories.

If you’ve visited our Community Center recently, there’s a good chance you’ve met Jessica.

Today, she’s one of the welcoming faces helping neighbors access resources, support, and encouragement. But before becoming a trusted volunteer and community leader at KCB, Jessica experienced homelessness, addiction, major health challenges, and years of feeling like she didn’t belong anywhere.

Now, she helps create the same sense of connection and care that once helped change her own life.

“Volunteering at KCB fills the void,” she shared. “I feel like a whole person. I’m connected.”

Stories like Jessica’s remind us why community matters, and why belonging can change everything.

Partnership helps good local ideas become stronger, clearer, and more sustainable.

At Kingdom Causes Bellflower, donor support and community partnerships help churches move from ideas into meaningful action.

Through the Church Cohort, churches receive training, connection to local providers, opportunities for collaboration, and access to micro-grant funding that can help launch practical neighborhood care projects.

Sometimes that support helps a church organize a stronger community resource effort. Other times, it helps create new systems for caring for families, connecting neighbors to services, or building long-term outreach programs.

Every partnership helps multiply local care.

If you believe in strengthening communities through collaboration, mercy, and practical support, we’d love for you to stay connected to this work.

Some stories remind us that progress is possible, even after years of closed doors.

Israel came to Good Soil Industries after struggling to find stable work because of his background and years of incarceration. He applied everywhere he could think of, but opportunity felt out of reach.

Through GSI, he found more than a paycheck. He found structure, dignity, community, and the ability to provide for his children again.

“Having stable employment made a big difference in my life,” Israel shared. “It gave me structure and stability, and showed me that I was moving in the right direction for myself and my family.”

Today, he’s continuing to move forward one step at a time — focused on his kids, his future, and building a better life.

Stories like Israel’s are why this work matters.

One of the best things we get to celebrate is growth from within.

Over the past season, we’ve had the opportunity to see participants at Good Soil Industries step into full-time and leadership roles, including route management positions that carry greater responsibility, trust, and mentorship.

These promotions represent more than job titles. They reflect hard work, consistency, personal growth, and the kind of stability that creates lasting change.

At GSI, we believe meaningful work can open doors to confidence, leadership, and opportunity—and it’s always encouraging to see people continue building toward that future.

Please help us celebrate:

A huge THANK YOU to the Los Cerritos YMCA for hosting our annual KCB Family Fun Day!

Our team spends every day investing in our community, so having a day to invest in our staff and their families means so much. From games and laughter to great food and fun memories, it was a day our team won't soon forget.

We're incredibly grateful to the Los Cerritos YMCA for your generosity, partnership, and heart for our community. Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing people who make KCB's mission possible.
