June is National and we’ll be sharing resources all month long!

It’s basically impossible to keep kids completely offline in this digital world, but that doesn’t mean we can’t equip them with the right information and tools to stay safe. 💙

Just like you take the proper precautions in the real world, set up safeguards for your children when they enter the online world!

Calling all parents and caregivers of tweens!

The internet is part of everyday life for kids — and so are the risks that come with it. Online predators, exploitation, and harmful content are realities that families in our community aren’t immune to. That’s why we’re bringing this conversation directly to parents.

You’ll gain real insight into the digital world your child is growing up in and leave with tools to help keep them safer. Registration is free and refreshments will be provided! Tickets are going fast - register now at https://app.aplos.com/aws/events/screens_tweens_a_deep_dive_into_the_digital_world_theyre_growing_up_in.

Child Abuse Prevention Month may be over, but the actual work of prevention never is. 💙

Prevention is made possible through small everyday moments - conversations, boundaries, education and more.

Talking regularly about safety with your children helps them know they are safe, and that you are a safe place.

Try saying one simple sentence about safety, ask your child an open-ended question like "what makes you feel safe?" or remind them they won't get in trouble for speaking up.

Open, honest, and loving communication with our children is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent child abuse!

💡Protective factors are conditions or attributes that, when present in families and communities, increase the well-being of children and families and reduce the likelihood of maltreatment. 💡
