It’s the last day of Teacher Appreciation!

Have your kiddo write a note (18 pages, FRONT AND BACK!) for your teacher explaining how they are important or thanking them for being awesome!

For the staff, they will be treated to Joey’s favorite food. Huge thank you to Jimmy Johns for donating sandwiches for the entire staff!

IT’S CENTRAL PERK DAY!! We’ve stocked the coffee bar with cold brew and hot coffee, reuseable k-pods, syrups, sauces and creamers (OH MY)!

Did you know staff brings in their own coffee to share? If you can, drop off a bag of ground coffee to help them “Grind” through the rest of the year!

Tuesday: Team Relaxi-Cab vs. Team Relaxi-Taxi?

Definitely awesome either way! Teachers will have some relaxing goodies and some massage tools to partake in for the day. Please feel free to send one in if you can!

The activity for the day is to help your student’s teachers relax (if you can, no pressure)! Examples: Small Coffee Card, Bathbomb, Chapsticks, Hand Lotion, CHOCOLATES, etc. 🤩

For the STI Family Night (STI is Since Time Immemorial)

This is an even organized by some Instructional Coaches in the Bellingham School District and sponsored by the “Happy Valley PTA”. It is on May 23rd 6:30-8:30pm at Hotel Leo in downtown Bellingham. The event is to learn about the Since Time Immemorial Curriculum that is being taught in Washington State.

The event plans to include:
¡ Music
¡ Salmon Bake
¡ Learning Resources
¡ Book Raffle
¡ Student work from STI lessons
· Coast Salish Lummi artist, Jason LaClair’s current totem pole carving project in partnership with Children of the Setting Sun (Native-owned and operated Bellingham non-profit).

The event is sponsored by Children of the Setting Sun Productions, Whatcom CARE (Coalition for Anti-Racist Education) and Happy Valley PTA. There is an ask to “RSVP”so they have some idea of number of people to expect and how much food. People can do that via the QR code on the flyer.

Dear Northern Heights Families,

Happy Staff Appreciation Week 2023! We have a super fun week planned for the Northern Heights staff and a few special treats along the way. Here is the plan:

Monday: Breakfast (Don’t worry, it’s not burnt!)
The NHPTA Board is providing a breakfast bar for the staff to enjoy.

Tuesday: It’s a Relaxi-Taxi!
The staff room will be stocked with items to help them relax like massage tools and spa items.

Wednesday: Monica and Phoebe’s Catering Day!
The Olive Garden will generously provide a full lunch for our entire staff!

Thursday: It’s the Central Perk
A fully stocked coffee bar will be provided to the staff with all the accoutrements!

Friday: Joey Doesn’t Share Food!! (But we do!)
Jimmy Johns has donated Joey’s favorite food (Sandwiches) for our entire staff! Huge thank you to JJ for always taking care of our school!

In addition, the PTA has stocked a staff refrigerator with drinks and snacks to help get everyone through the day.

What can you do?
Here’s the schedule of activities for families to participate! There is no pressure to participate but we are always happy and grateful if you can.

Want to help? Reply to this email with what day/time you are available to help and we can find a job for you!

Thank you for being an awesome community, we LOVE celebrating with you and letting the staff know “We’ll Be There For You”!
