We had a great time touring the future Bakerview Meadows Park with King Mountain neighbors on Monday! Peter Gill, our Planning and Development Coordinator, shared what we could expect from the phased development process and walked us through where amenities like playgrounds, trails, parking, and more might go. Thanks to everyone who joined us! We loved seeing the community’s excitement for what’s ahead.

While the park doesn’t have amenities, trails and signage are in progress and it is open as public open space. Stop by to explore the site, or learn more on our project page: https://cob.org/project/east-bakerview-park-planning-and-feasibility-study

Join us Sept. 12-20 as we participate in a week of free, family-friendly events celebrating our precious local water resources! Whether you want to read stories along our waterfront, spot birds at the Little Squalicum Estuary, learn about the Lightcatcher Building’s green roof, or peek behind the scenes at our water treatment plants, there is something for everyone. Next time you’re at the Little Squalicum off-leash area or visiting the Little Squalicum Pier, you may notice crews working in the creek nearby. That’s because restoration doesn’t end when construction does.

Near the Little Squalicum Estuary project, completed in 2024, crews are repositioning boulders and large wood in the creek to stabilize streambanks and reduce erosion. This kind of follow-up work is an important part of habitat restoration.
