Last night kicked off the first night of our holiday parade and food drive. It was great to see all the support from the lake Samish and Chuckanut communities. We are off to the Yew St neighborhood tonight (sat 20) and Geneva Sudden Valley on Sunday (sat 21)! Happy holidays.

Thank you so much to all of our supporters🙏❤️

Thank you so much to all of our supporters🙏❤️

❤️ Thank you voters for your support!

While we waited for more ballots to be counted, we can now announce our levy lid lift proposition has been approved. We appreciate everyone that exercised their right to vote!

We now have the important task of using your tax dollars responsibly to support our operations and continuing to provide reliable services to our community. Here are a few ways we intend to use these dollars as we plan our 2026 budget:

✅Hire additional personnel to maintain adequate staffing and operations.
✅Replace old and obsolete equipment used for firefighting, technical rescue, and EMS.
✅Replace aging vehicles used to support our operations including maintenance and training.
✅Maintain and upgrade aging fire station infrastructure to keep us operating efficiently into the future.

We recognize that not all voters supported this proposition and we empathize and respect that decision. SWFA will continue to be transparent and engaged with the community to demonstrate our good stewardship of our taxpayers' money.

We are committed to our mission of being "dedicated to maintaining a state of readiness to protect our communities through provision of effective and efficient fire and emergency life safety services."

🚒BR28 NEW MOBILIZATION 🚒

And they’re off again! A three firefighter crew is headed to the Lake Spokane Fire in Stevens County as part of a regional Task Force on a State Mobilization request.

Our crew could be gone as long as 14 days.

We maintain staffing at our home stations when we send out personnel on these assignments as well.

Stay safe!

We now know the individuals who lost their lives in yesterday's tragic events in Idaho. Our thoughts continue to be with these two fire departments, their members, their families, and all of those impacted by this tragedy.

We are staying updated with support needs through the Washington Fire Chiefs as they offer support from all over our state.
