AT&T has completed repairs and the county phones are back up and running.

Due to a fiber outage, county phone lines are currently out of service. AT&T is actively working to repair the issue.

The Mill Creek Bridge on Mill Creek Road will be closed beginning Monday, July 21st through Monday, August 4th. The construction crew will be working on the bridge approaches, and connecting them to the roadway. Thank you for your patience while the construction is taking place. We will keep you updated if there are any changes.

Chew Road will be closed beginning January 20, 2025, for a bridge replacement project. The bridge being replaced is located closest to FM 1458. This area will be down for 3 months or more. We will keep you updated.

📣💡 , FEMA is opening Disaster Recovery Centers in Austin, Dallas and Guadalupe counties June 15 to provide one-on-one help to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds April 26-June 5.

FEMA Representatives are in the area. If you are approached by someone claiming to be with FEMA, they should have a FEMA badge, be wearing a FEMA shirt, and most will be wearing vests. FEMA has also set up a Disaster Recovery Center at the Bellville Police Department. If you would like further information regarding recovery assistance, the center well be open 7-7 any day of the week. Thank you!

🚨🚨ALERT🚨🚨
From the Austin County Office of Emergency Management:
“If you are in need of shelter for tonight, or have medical needs, call 979-865-5911. For any emergency situation call 911. Please stay indoors if at all possible for now.”
FROM BPD:
Police, Deputies, DPS, Constables, Fire Departments, City and County Crews are all working at the moment on multiple issues throughout.
We still have limbs and power lines down throughout town and in the county. Lines have been identified and crews are aware and in progress of getting power restored. Power is out in the majority of the city at this time. Some businesses in town have reported to still have power, the majority do not. We are in progress of clearing roadways with downed trees and branches. No ETA for power restoration at this time.
Good news………no injuries have been reported at this time.
