So I have forgotten that when I think, "It's a 1 day job," that it really means more like 3 days. Finished the balcony today.

Finished the Study with Trim/Paint last week. I have a little cleanup on the windows and I have to set a proper door but it is looking good. I know it's not that exciting to those that haven't had to do the painstaking work of trim.
Setup for a balcony outside one set of the French doors to no where. I think it is going to be a 1 day job when the time is counted. Pictures later.

Wednesday, morning of the Inspection day, at this point I have been going for about 4 days straight with little rest. The fireplace gets finished, the Floor Stair team showed up for the second day in a row and completed a flight and a half of the stairs and I knocked out all but the diagonal ceiling tiles in the master bath. When I checked in with the Building department they indicated my inspector was someone I hadn't had out here before. He was about 3 hours late but the best inspector I have had on site. He explained the code and the reasons behind it as he inspected. Thanks Richard. Unfortunately, he couldn't sign us off on the final since the propane tank wasn't in yet. He offered a solution and Jael sorted the paperwork out this morning at the building department. She brought me the Certificate of Occupancy this morning. Thank you Jael Morgan for being my teammate in this crazy process and finishing the project while I was at work. We can legally live there now. The Blue Stone Mountain Home is our new Morgan family home.

So then things started turning about Sunday. Projects got finished, punch list items were being completed and people came to help Monday. Tuesday the Plumber finished his stuff while I ran back and forth for him 4 times. The Stucco guys finished on time and we got the Final inspection scheduled.

The only other things that went wrong were: The inspection that was scheduled got canclled by the inspector because he thought he did it on Friday but it was just a pre inspection. The storm hit and knocked out the stair guys and pretty much any other help got sick. This was about the time I started continuously working to get everything done. After this point I only napped when I passed out waiting for food to warm up during the occasional meal.

And that is about the time stuff started going wrong. The stucco guys had to knockoff early because of sickness so they...

And that is about the time stuff started going wrong. The stucco guys had to knockoff early because of sickness so they didn't get the scaffolding down so we couldn't grade up to the basement doors(punch list item). The plumber couldn't make it back until Tuesday(punch list item). The stairs guys couldn't come and fix the treads and risers(punch list item). The day we were supposed to have the CO inspection was a County holiday. And there was a pretty good cold snap/winter storm coming in.

The kitchen cabinet came in and was installed. The stucco guys finished the outside chimney and we agreed about the inside with the upcoming storm that was due Monday. People started coming out to help. Thanks Brad Kappel of Fort Collins Mail n Copy, Jackson Kappel, Mike Wertheimer, the unnamed neighbor, Jason Bennet, my mom, Jael's mom, and Alton of Akido of Fort Collins.

As of the last post we were getting ready to face a long weekend and a preinspection from the Inspector. He gave us a 13 item punch list to complete for a CO inspection. The stucco guys weren't done with the chimney exterior and we hadn't even talked about the interior stone veneer. We were missing a kitchen sink cabinet, there was no vanities installed for the kid's bathrooms, and about half the upstairs bathroom was grouted. Jael called everyone she knew. I called people and we hoped for the best.

This weekend is the final blitz for the Certificate of Occupancy. There are all sorts of projects to get done. Come on out and help us get this wrapped up.
