There are many items, events, and experiences that foster children often miss out on that are part of a typical childhood and family. Our goal at Blair Hope is to raise the monetary funding and in-kind donations from individuals, corporations and organizations in an effort to PROVIDE a more typical childhood and family experience. Secondly, as children “age out” of the foster care system and gain
their independence, they are often ill-equipped to jump directly into adulthood. Statistics show that 40% of youth that age out of foster care end up homeless, and 60% of aged out males are convicted of a crime before age 24. Blair Hope will partner with Blair County CYF to target this group of youth to better PREPARE them for their independence & their future as adults. Lastly, for families seeking to adopt and create a forever family for those open and free for adoption, Blair Hope will create a financial grant to offset adoption related expenses in an effort to facilitate PERMANENCY through the lifetime bond of a family.
