Blair Hope for Families, 610 Orchard Street, Bellwood, PA (2026)

There are many items, events, and experiences that foster children often miss out on that are part of a typical childhood and family. Our goal at Blair Hope is to raise the monetary funding and in-kind donations from individuals, corporations and organizations in an effort to PROVIDE a more typical childhood and family experience. Secondly, as children “age out” of the foster care system and gain

their independence, they are often ill-equipped to jump directly into adulthood. Statistics show that 40% of youth that age out of foster care end up homeless, and 60% of aged out males are convicted of a crime before age 24. Blair Hope will partner with Blair County CYF to target this group of youth to better PREPARE them for their independence & their future as adults. Lastly, for families seeking to adopt and create a forever family for those open and free for adoption, Blair Hope will create a financial grant to offset adoption related expenses in an effort to facilitate PERMANENCY through the lifetime bond of a family.

At Blair Hope, 1 of our 3 principles is to advocate permanence…to help remove the financial barrier of adoption by providing a grant to adopting individuals and families in Blair County to cover the attorney fees of finalization.

TODAY, we sent the check to cover our THIRD adoption of this summer!

The Lord puts the lonely in families, and we believe that when we advocate for permanence and help to create forever families, we are partnering with our Creator.

May is National Foster Care Month!

Every year, over 200 unique children spend time in Blair County's foster care system. These are our children. We see them in church and at the grocery store. Foster care is MORE than a safe place to sleep...it's a family, an opportunity, and a time to know how special each child really is.
