A special thank you to Robin and Robin’s Nest for the wonderful hospitality. It was great spending the evening talking with residents, hearing what’s on your minds, and sharing our vision for Belmar.

Mayor Caitlin Donovan joined state, county and local leaders for a Flood Safety Week tour focused on flooding and resiliency challenges throughout the Shark River area.

“I don’t want any of our neighborhoods to feel forgotten. There’s one Belmar. We need to work internally, with our surrounding towns, and with the county and state to bring holistic solutions to the issues affecting our residents today.”

Flooding doesn’t stop at municipal borders, and neither can the solutions. We’re moving Belmar forward together.

Terry Raskauskas lives a block from L Street Beach in Belmar. Flash flooding from heavy rain and tidal flooding from storms happens on average more than a half dozen times a year.

Discover local Coastal Wildlife at Sunset Seining in Belmar! Tuesday September 1st

The Shark River Clean Up Coalition (SRCC) is hosting this special event in partnership with the American Littoral Society and the Belmar Environmental Commission.

Experience the thrill of hands-on marine discovery! Join us at Maclearie Park for an evening of hands-on discovery led by the American Littoral Society’s Education Team, as we explore the diverse wildlife that calls our Shark River tidal basin home.

Tuesday, September 1st, 6-8 PM at Maclearie Park in Belmar: you'll help pull a 40-foot seine net through the water to discover and identify the incredible fish, crabs, and other fascinating creatures that call our coast home. It's a fun and educational activity for all ages.

Spaces are limited, so be sure to register today!

Registration is required: ​$10 per participant [*No fee for children 2 and younger], please register all attending children & adults.
