🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – BELMAR 5 Road Closures 🚨

The Belmar 5 will be held on Saturday, September 5th, with the race beginning at 8:00 AM.

Beginning at 7:00 AM, the following roadways will be closed to all vehicular traffic until the race concludes:

• Ocean Avenue
• North Boulevard
• 5th through 9th Avenues, from Ocean Avenue to Main Street

🚫 NO PARKING will be permitted along Ocean Avenue from 1st through 9th Avenues or around Silver Lake.

Residents and visitors should expect traffic delays while runners are on the course. Please cooperate with public safety officials and race volunteers to help ensure a safe and successful event.

➡️ Anyone needing to leave an area affected by the road closures should travel westbound toward Main Street.

🚨 BELMAR 5 WEEKEND TRAFFIC ADVISORY 🚨

The Belmar Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors about several events taking place this weekend!

🎆 Friday, September 4th
The Belmar 5 Kid’s Race and activities will take place at Silver Lake Park, 5th & Ocean Avenue, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks will follow at dusk. The area surrounding the race and fireworks will be closed to vehicular traffic during the events.

🏃 Saturday, September 5th
The Belmar 5 will begin at 8:00 a.m. Beginning at 7:00 a.m., Ocean Avenue, North Boulevard, and 5th through 9th Avenues between Ocean and Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic until the race concludes.

🚫 Please Note:
•The area of the 7th Ave beach will be closed Friday to prepare for the fireworks.
• No parking will be permitted along Ocean Avenue from 1st through 9th Avenues and around Silver Lake from 12am to 12pm Saturday.
• Vehicles parked in "No Parking" areas will be towed.
• Expect traffic delays while runners are on the course.
• Please follow the directions of public safety officials and race volunteers.
• Anyone needing to leave areas affected by the road closures should travel westbound toward Main Street.

As students head back to school, the Belmar Police Department reminds everyone to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution in school zones and around crosswalks throughout town.

Please follow posted parking regulations, never block crosswalks or bus stops, and always buckle up. Let’s work together to keep our students safe and make it a great school year! 💙

🚔 NOW HIRING – SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (SLEO II) 🚔

The Belmar Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II).

Physical Fitness Test:
📅 Sunday, August 16, 2026
The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted rain or shine.

All prospective applicants are required to complete a Pre-PT Application. Candidates who successfully pass the Physical Fitness Test will advance to the background investigation phase of the hiring process.

Selected applicants will attend either the Monmouth County Police Academy or the Ocean County Police Academy.
