We have been seeing many children/teens on electric scooters who are driving recklessly and endangering themselves and others: not obeying stop signs, bolting out in front of cars, not wearing a helmet, wearing earbuds, riding with passengers, and not paying attention to their surroundings, etc. If your children use an electric scooter, please talk with them about operating safely and respecting the rules of the roadway.

Of course, this applies to bicyclists also, but electric scooters have the ability to go much faster, and more speed often means more risks. We want everyone to have a SAFE and happy summer!
