WRITE-IN CANDIDATES!!

Our office has been asked if those who are running a write-in campaign for the upcoming elections are required to file Campaign Finance records; upon some research the answer is YES. If you are or know of someone running a write-in campaign please have them call the NYS Board of Elections Campaign Finance Office at 1-800-458-3453. They can also call our office with requests for forms.

Anyone who raises money for a candidate with or without their knowledge that person must also file paperwork even if they themselves are not running.

Our office numbers are 585-268-9294 or 9295. Please don't let this be a reason for a hassle for you as a candidate.

We have had lots of new followers of our page recently. We do want some to know that this page is Allegany County NY. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜‰

09/14/2021

FYI-we recently mailed out voter registration cards to new voters, voters who have moved, ect. We forgot to remove the prompt on some of our 16 & 17 year old voters that pre-registered with us. The card states they are eligible but they are not & WOULD NOT appear in a Election Day Poll Book. They remain ineligible until their 18th birthday. We apologize for the confusion & thank those that have called.

ATTENTION VOTERS!!!
We have been made aware-via messages, calls & social media that there is a concern about the use of sharpie markers while voting.

We have used these markers for 10 years. Please remember that once your ballot goes through the machine there are no take backs. You know your ballot was cast because the machine told your it was successful.

The sharpies are one of the approved writing utensils. Itโ€™s chosen for its dry time-wonโ€™t cause issues with the machine.

If it was true that the sharpies were a problem then there wouldnโ€™t be any elected officials in Allegany County due to the fact thatโ€™s all the voters use on Election Day. ๐Ÿ˜Š

All pens are read by the machine as well.

We had an amazing turnout for The Early Voting. We had 3,247 voters come in to vote over 12% of our registered voters. This does not count the Affidavit Voters. We averaged approximately 48 voters per hour during the early voting hours. We had amazing help! Lynn Thompson, Mary Lindquist, Mary Raymond, Abby Luzier, Nicole Munkwitz, Tim Voss, Suzie Thomas, Mary Presutti, Lynette Decker, Meghan Oโ€™Kelly Harris, Veronica Davis & Barb Zlomek!! Without the extra hands we would never have been as successful! Great teamwork! Itโ€™s been a pleasure being part of such a group of hardworking people. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Election Day-ALL of the normal Poll Sites will be open 6am-9pm. Our Inspectors have been trained to watch for electioneering & most of all sanitizing processes. Be kind & appreciative of the time they are giving & the risks they are taking-there isnโ€™t an election without them. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
