Pleasants County EMS is hosting a new community event designed to give families and children an up-close look at emergency equipment while building positive relationships with local first responders.

Today Governor Patrick Morrisey was in Pleasants County surveying the damage from Tuesday evenings tornadoes. He met with representatives from the Belmont and St. Marys Volunteer Fire Departments along with the mayors of Belmont and St. Marys and our county commissioners.

We want to thank Gov. Morrisey and Senator Trenton Barnhart for their continued support of Pleasants County as we continue to clean up and rebuild.

Per the WV DOH

WV DOH Advised Rt. 2 South of Carpenter Bridge/Emerick Hill area will be closed from 8:00am to 12:00pm tomorrow July 24th to remove the large tree and debris on the hill side. DOH will notify 911 in the morning before they start. Several utility companies will be on scene during this time.

UPDATE: route 2 in front of the Greenhouse is now open as of 9:09 PM.
