⚾️ Giants Night with ASLA-NCC!

We had a great time at ASLA-NCC’s Giants Night, getting together with the landscape architecture and playground community at Oracle Park. It’s always a fun opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new people and enjoy the game.

This year brought even more fun with Pokémon Worlds Night happening at the ballpark. ⚡️

🎒 📚 A brand-new inclusive playground is ready for students at Alvarado Elementary School in Union City!

SPEC Play worked alongside New Haven Unified School District and Alvarado Elementary School to bring a new play space to campus just in time for the start of the school year.

The playground is a major upgrade from the previous space, giving students of all abilities exciting ways to play. Ramps provide easy access throughout the play structure, while plenty of interactive play panels offer play opportunities at multiple levels. The 360 Loop Slide & Climber adds another accessible way for students to climb and slide.

Balancing activities, spinning, hanging bars, outdoor musical instruments and retreat areas underneath the play structure provide a variety of ways to play. A sensory Serenity Spot, designed for all children with a special focus on children on the autism spectrum, offers an additional space for a quieter play experience.

We’re excited to see students enjoying their new playground as they head back to school!

☀️ Summer Spotlight: San Pablo Park | Berkeley, CA
Designed as an inclusive playground that encourages exploration and self-regulated play, this space gives kids plenty of ways to climb, slide, balance, spin and swing while challenging themselves.

A treehouse-inspired PentaBoo structure from Berliner creates a unique climbing experience within a three-dimensional net, complete with a fast slide back down, while the 5–12 play area from Burke offers even more opportunities for active and adventurous play.

Younger kids have a space of their own, too. The separate 2–5 Burke play area is gated and features slides, swings, musical elements and interactive play panels.

☀️ Summer Spotlight: Pyramid Park | Mountain View

Pyramid Park is packed with ways to play, climb, and stay active. The 5-12 play area is anchored by a Berliner Jupiter net climber, where kids can climb at their own level. This playspace also includes the Picadilly Circle spinner and swings, adding a variety of play experiences.

Younger children have their own space too, featuring the Mini Mars net climber, Spooky Rookie hut and slide, an inclusive hammock, O’Tannebaum spinner, and toddler swings.

The Lappset outdoor fitness area gives teens and adults a place to challenge themselves with battle ropes, pull-up bars, monkey bars, flying rings, dips, and more.

SPEC Play is proud to have brought this park to life creating a space where toddlers, big kids, teens, and adults can all get outside, play, and stay active together this summer.
