Please be advised that Gus Jaehne Drive will be closed temporarily beginning at 8:30 AM in order to replace a culvert at the intersection.

This culvert area will also be repaved in the coming weeks as part of other paving work already planned.

We appreciate your patience as our crews work to complete these improvements. Please use caution in the area and make alternate travel plans if needed.

🇺🇸 We are proud to display our new America 250 flag in Belmont as we begin celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

This flag represents more than a milestone anniversary — it is a reminder of the freedom, sacrifice, history, and patriotism that have shaped our nation for 250 years. It also serves as a call to reflect on where we have been, honor those who helped preserve our freedoms, and look ahead to the future with gratitude and pride.

A special thank you to the North Mississippi Mayor’s Association for providing these flags to communities across North Mississippi. We are grateful to be part of this meaningful effort to recognize and celebrate America 250.

City officials recently met with Cook Coggin Engineers to continue planning for important wastewater collection system improvements across Belmont. This work is part of an SRF project focused on strengthening aging infrastructure, addressing priority areas within the system, and helping position the city for long-term reliability and service improvements.

A major benefit of this project is that approximately 75% of the funding is coming from outside sources, which helps lessen the financial burden on Belmont while still allowing the city to make meaningful infrastructure investments. Planning and coordination remain underway as the city works to move this project forward responsibly and strategically.

We’re just a few days away from a powerful weekend of remembrance in Tishomingo County.

America's Freedom Tribute honors the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country while giving visitors the opportunity to reflect, remember, and pay their respects. The exhibit will be open 24 hours a day throughout the weekend, and admission is free to the public.
