For nearly two centuries, county fairs have been a cornerstone of New York’s agricultural industry, and the hard work, passion, and devotion of our youngest agriculturalists is what keeps that tradition thriving today. Fairs are a place where youth can demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed through their project work, from animal and livestock shows, horticulture exhibitions, youth ag program showcases, and more.

That’s why August’s photo contest category is: “Youth Ag Showcase!” This month, we want to see photos this month that demonstrate the summer fair season through the eyes of our future leaders in ag!

As a reminder, we require model consent forms for any photos containing a person who is a focus of a photo, or if the photo features a partially or wholly visible face or likeness. (We expect most photos in this submission to need a consent form!) You can find the form on our website, and send it with your submission.

To submit a photo, email it to [email protected]. Submissions are due Labor Day: Monday, September 7, 2026.
