Open Burning begins in the Town of Beloit Today!

Opening burning is April 1st through April 30th. Burns can start at 8am and must be doused at or before 8pm. Please always use extreme caution while burning. We did receive some much needed rain however we still remain in a “high” fire danger zone.

Please remember the following information when burning:

📞 - Prior to burning please notify Rock County Communications at 608-757-2244

🪵 - Burn only dry natural wood, natural wood products, or leaves
📏 - Burning must occur at least 50 feet from any buildings or other combustible materials
💧 - Adequate means of dousing the fire must be on hand at all times while burning
💨 - Fires that generate smoke that obscures a public road or pose a threat to public safety must be extinguished
🚫 - Burning treated wood, garbage, food products, paper, cardboard, manure, plastic, or rubber is prohibited

⚠️ - As always when burning, consider safety at all times. Periods of extreme heat, strong winds, or other extreme weather conditions can easily cause a fire to get out of hand quickly.
